Celebrates National Voters Day

Section A & B

5th March 2024: On the 5th of March, 2024, NSS in collaboration with the Department of Political Science, organised a campaign under the theme

“MERA PEHLA VOTE DESH KE LIYE”, which was an awareness program for voters. NSS class Section A and B held the program at Hall T2. Chairperson of the program was Lolano Lotha, NSS volunteer. The Invocation was done was by Yutsula K Tikhir followed by the felicitation of the Resource person, Dr. TovikaSwu, Head and  Assistant Professor, Department of Political science. He spoke on the topic “Merapehla vote deshkeliye.” He spoke on how voting is a fundamental right but also a responsibility and gave importance on why should one vote and said that one should vote for a responsible government and voting is important because it allows us to have a say in shaping our future and make decisions that benefits our life and that it’s a way to express our opinions and make a difference in our communities. The result declaration of slogan competition was followed after which the winners read the slogans that they had prepared. Vote of thanks was given by RenbeniTungoe. She expressed her warm appreciation to all the presenters and the participants. She also mentioned that without everyone’s participation this event would not have been such a resound success. The program concluded with the singing of the College anthem.

SECTION C & D

5th March, 2024: On the 5th of March, 2024, NSS in collaboration with the Department of Political Science, organised a campaign under the theme

“MERA PEHLA VOTE DESH KE LIYE”, which was an awareness program for voters. NSS class Section C and D held the program at Hall T1. The leader was WonjanoMurry, NSS Volunteer. She began the program by introducing abit about the program and its purpose. Then, invocation was followed by Neivotuonuo Nancy Kire. The speaker of this program was Mr.ZupenthungShitri, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science. He was felicitated with a traditional naga shawl. He spoke on, “Right to vote: My fundamental right.” He began his speech by thanking the chairperson for giving him time and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity. He said that the ability to right is not only a right but a responsibility and the practice of voting has been as old as human civilization. Right was limited before, but as time passed by, we find that the importance of this voting right has been recognised by every individual.He considered voting right as a fundamental and a very basic right.He concluded by saying that we should all educate the people around about the fundamental right that we have. Then the result declaration of Slogan Competition followed after which the Slogan Reading by all the 4 groups took place.Vote of thanks was done by GwanyeshaJasü in which she thanked the leader for guiding the program. On behalf of NSS, she expressed  her sincere appreciation to the speaker, extended her acknowledgement to the master of ceremony and also added an honourable mention to the organisers and members for active participation in the slogan making. She hoped to inspire the whole through this programme. The Oath taking was then followed. And the programme concluded with the Singing of the College anthem.
